Instructions

1. Measurements
   1. Length of horn. This measurement is taken along the front edge of the horn, from the base right along the horn length to its extremity. The tape must stride over the annular (age) rings and not be pressed in between the annulations.
   2. Circumference of horn. This measurement is taken at the base of the horn at the thickest place between two annular (age) rings.
   3. Overall spread as follows:

      If the over-all spread is less than 80% of the length of the longer horn 0 point
      If the over-all spread is between 80 and 84.9% of the length of the longer horn 1 point
      If the over-all spread is between 85 and 104.9% of the length of the longer horn 2 points
      If the over-all spread is between 105 and 110 % of the length of the longer horn 1 point
      If the over-all spread is more than 110% of the length of the longer horn 0 point.

2. Beauty and Penalty Points
   1. Beauty Points
      1. Age points:

         Under 10 years old 0 point
         10 years old 1 point
         11 years old 2 points
         12 years old 3 points
         13 years old 4 points
         and an additional point for each year thereafter

      
      
      
      
      
      2. Beauty points, as follows: A lyre shaped horn is considered typical of the species. Horn formation.

         Straight horns 0 point
         Horns with only an outward twist 1 point
         Horns with an outward and downward twist 2 points
         Horns with both outward and downward twist as well as the start of another upward twist 3 points
         Horns with an outward, downward and visible upward twist 4 points
         Horns with outward, downward and upward twists, all well developed 5 points

   2. Penalty Points:
      1. White coloured horns deduct 1 point

         Feeble annular (age) rings 1 point
         Broomed horn ends 1 point
         Unsymmetrical horns 0-4 points
